 Aerosmith Pop Up Museum

As part of Aerosmith’s new residency in Las Vegas, Roadwerx channeled its inner rock star to create the “Aerosmith Vault” a museum celebrating the legendary band. Roadwerx designed the experience to engage guests as soon as the elevator door opens. A large branded floor graphic instructs visitors to “Walk this Way”, directing them to the museum entrance. An arched truss with the Aerosmith Vault logo greets guests as they wait for their tour to begin.

Because of the need to quickly dismantle the museum as needed, posters, photos, awards, and albums were mounted to large wall panels. Those panels are suspended from a stage truss installed throughout the perimeter of the room. In the center of the museum, Roadwerx built a custom post-and-beam display wall that pays tribute to each band member through their instruments. A custom acrylic box surrounding the instrument wall was created to protect the priceless pieces. With all that protection, Roadwerx installed an access panel, which comes in handy as a couple of band members like to swap out some of their instruments for that night’s performance. Farther down, illuminated mannequin cases line the wall displaying iconic outfits from each band member. At the end of the first row, Roadwerx rigged a thirteen-foot tall neon sign that hung on stage for the “Honkin’ on Bobo” tour. Smaller display cases are scattered around the museum, holding awards, smaller musical instruments, and special memorabilia. The museum continues around the corner, past the behind-the-scenes tech area until it ends at the custom Aerosmith wings photo op. Dimensional wings from the Aerosmith logo protrude from a backwall made from Aerosmith vinyl records. The photo op has also become the location for some of the band’s meet-and-greets. As fans exit the museum, they pass a specially illustrated glow-in-the-dark drum kit.
