voestalpine Texas is the Steel Division of the voestalpine Group, an international company headquartered in Austria. Roadwerx was brought in to mesh the two cultures together to celebrate the launch of the world’s largest and most state-of-the-art direct reduction facility in Corpus Christi Texas. This included a welcoming station at the airport, a Texas-style welcome dinner, press conference and launch ceremony luncheon at the facility. The welcome dinner, hosted at a charming, rustic restaurant, featured an amazing outdoor courtyard with an array of soft seating and dining options, a two-piece band, and upscale Texas-style finger foods available the entire event as guests sporadically arrived throughout the afternoon and evening. A 24’ stage with monitors was nestled against a beautiful fountain for welcome speeches. At the heart of the facility is the 450’ tall reduction tower. Roadwerx positioned an impressive 66’ x 100’ Clearspan structure tent to face the tower with a clear front wall and roof, which gave each of the 250 guests an unobscured view of the tower. An impressive 30’ video wall allowed all guests easy view of the many presentations. To handle the Texas heat, the air conditioned tent was setup days in advance to achieve a comfortable temperature. Because of the facility’s remote location, all amenities including luxury restrooms had to be provided. The launch event was culminated with a flyover by a local pilot over the event with the U.S. and Austrian flags in tow.
